A Moment Between the Clouds and I
When I looked up at the morning sky,
There was a moment between the clouds and I
As the sun was rising from the dark
Over the city’s Eastern Park
I think it was just me that saw
Morning puffy clouds galore
Pink tinged beauties all around
Golden yellow hues abound.
I stopped the car in Gilles Street
Got out to stretch my legs and feet.
And there it was, the early show
The morning sky was all aglow
Nature’s beauty all for me
Or anyone who’s up to see
Perhaps there were another few
Who got to have this moment too.
A minute later things had changed
The sky and clouds all rearranged
The rainbow hues had gone from sight
Faded by the rising light.
And off I drove inside my car
Homeward bound, not very far
A sky like this so rare to find
I’ll store this moment in my mind.
